Only One Week Left Until the New Tim Gunn Book

I have been waiting for the announcement that Tim Gunn was writing another book and once I found out it would come out Fall 2012 I could not wait. Now we are only one week away from the September 11th release of Tim Gunn's Fashion Bible: The Fascinating History of Everything in Your Closet.

Betseyville Shoes

Here are two pairs of shoes from the new Betseyville line available at jcpenney that I could not live without! Betseyville is the line of American designer Betsey Johnson who is know for feminine and whimsical designs. Many of her designs are considered "over the top" and embellished, but I just call that attention to details. If you are looking for statement pieces that will make people stop and ask "where did you get that," then you are in the right place.

Gracie Platform Pump with a 5 1/4" heel.
I bought the Leopard and Purple version but it also come in Black and Black Glitter. They have an awesome print design (fun floral and dot design) on the soles of the heel which make them unique and standout from the rest.

Dana Bow-Embellished Platform Pumps with a 3 2/5" heel.
I bought the Black version but they also come in Red. They lace up the back of the heel and have a bow to top it off. They have an awesome print design (black and blue leopard print) on the soles of the heel which make them unique and standout from the rest.

Best of Luck Joanna Coles

 

Maire Claire announced today that Joanna Coles, current editor-in-chief, is moving on to be the editor-in-chief at Cosmopolitan. Coles' served as editor-in-chief at Maire Claire since 2006. Coles also served as a mentor on Project Runway: All Stars Edition.

Only a few hours later Maire Claire announced Coles' replacement is Anne Fulenwider, an editor at Brides magazine. This is not Fulenwider's first time with Maire Claire as she once held the title of executive editor.

I will miss Joanna Coles at the head of Maire Claire since I love every change she made during her tenure. I wish Joanna the best of luck at Cosmopolitan. I welcome Anne Fulenwider to Maire Claire and I am interested in what changes she will make and if they will be for the better.

Cosmopolitan Shoes

Here are two pairs of shoes from the new brand, Cosmopolitan, available at jcpenney that I could not live without! There are other pairs that are just as fabulous but I told myself only pick two...well for now. If this initial collection is a indicator for what this brand will look like, then I say. I might just own almost every pair of shoes from Cosmopolitan.

Burma Peep-Toe Patent Pump with 3 1/5" heel.
I bought the Natural/Gold pair but they also come in Black/Black. They are just the right amount of sassy that allows you to show some style while being practical at the same time.

Marston Women's Sequin Slip Ons flats.
I bought the Black Sequin pair but they also come in Gold Sequin, Blue Sparkle, and Sliver Sparkle. I am not normally a person who buys flats but this pair had the right amount of piazza to them that made me change my mind. It will allow me to have my sparkle even on a casual day.

Hello, My Name Is Shoeaholic

Many of you that know me well know that I am a shoeaholic. I have been told admitting you have a problem, but I don't think it's a problem, is the first step. Nothing is better than a new pair of shoes. If I am having a bad day a new pair of shoes can make it all better. Also when I have a killer pair of shoes on I can do anything and no one can stop me.

I thought the day would never come when I, Rustie J, would go through all of my shoes and have a heart to heart which each pair and ask the question "do I still need you?" There were many shoes in my closet that I have not worn in many moons. So it was time for me to find these shoes new home so that I have more room for all the fabulous new shoes that will come out this season.

I started with 120 pairs of flats, wedges, sneakers, heels, and boots in my closet and after a very long day I only have 72 pairs left in my closet (pictured below). That's right everyone I need to find new homes for 40+ pairs of shoes. Good thing a good amount of my friends wear the same size shoe!

There is something to be said about shoes and why women own so many of them. Please note that there are few things in life that you cannot have too much of and guess what shoes are one of those things.

From the blog "The Shoe Expert's Blog" she give us the top seven reason why there is no such thing as too many shoes.

1. We have choices: What woman wants to get up day after day and wear the same old shoe? Unless women are wearing uniforms to work and have no choice about it, not many! We wear different clothes everyday, so we need to have just as many shoe choices as well! 

2. We need variety: So now that we’ve established we have choices, we need a variety of shoes to choose from when putting together the perfect outfit. Just think of how different your dress will look with boots vs stilettos. The shoes can make the outfit work…or fail!   

 

3. It’s a great deal: Let’s admit it, ladies. We have all purchased at least one pair of shoes just because they were on sale! Of course, they fit well and looked great too, but it’s hard to pass up a good deal on shoes…especially when we can justify that we can wear them later, and we will!

 

4. They make us feel good: It’s just like having a good hair day! When you put on that perfect pair of shoes, you feel like you “can conquer the world.” Well, us women do anyway…for men, maybe it’s the perfect power suit or driving that perfect car…for some of us women, it’s the perfect pair of shoes!

5. They last a long time: Since we have so many shoes, and we don’t wear the same ones on a daily basis, they usually last for a long time! Provided we are buying quality brands, this is true. With shoes, like it or not, you get what you pay for!

6. They’re an investment: When we splurge on those designer heels or boots, we know it is an investment. And we take great care of that investment so that they do last a long time. Like I previously mentioned, those high end shoes hold their value because they last so long!     

 

7. They’re our BFFs: Someone once said a diamond is a girl’s best friend, right? Well, I am here to tell you that a shoe is a woman’s best friend! We love them, and they love us back (or at least that’s what we believe)!

The Levi's fit story display...my favorite part of this whole shop!!

jcp: is a brand new private label brands that will offer high quality essential pieces with great quality and fit. These will be pieces that are essential to your wardrobe and will change out as the season change. These items are also at amazing prices that will keep you coming back for more.

Liz Claiborne: they use the traditional style of Liz Claiborne but in a very modern way. You will find sportswear, active and jewelry all in the same place. Once you enter the big yellow door you will find a place to sit (probably for the men) while we shop. Liz Claiborne is timeless style that works for all occasions.

Also they launched two new brands Cosmopolitan and Betseyville.

 

 

Cosmopolitan: is a new brand in shoes, handbags and intimates. It is a modern brand targeted for the young or young at heart professional that wants good product but also wants to be on trend. Go for it attitude is what it is all about. I love the shoe selection!
